The first step in evaluating the feasability of a spring is to calculate the level of stress it can accept. Spring calculation needs software capabilities but also expertise to judge the quality of the results. Because Ressort Masselin engineers have gained a large experience in spring calculation for extreme applications, we have compiled all this data in a handbook well know to designers “La Technique du ressort”.

In all applications submitted to Ressort Masselin, the spring calculation is double checked using an in house software. Once the physical characteristics of the spring have been calculated the next step is to evaluate it’s manufacturing process in order to establish the cost and sales price.

For nearly all applications, Ressort Masselin’s engineering department is available to advise customers in their spring calculations.
